Approve or deny commissions
What each commission status means, why some are held for review, and how to approve, deny or delete one.
Every commission moves through a few statuses on its way to being paid. Most need nothing from you. The ones that do wait under Needs review. You find them all at Commissions.
What each status means#
The totals across the top of the page double as filters. Click one to show only those commissions, and click it again to show everything.
| Status | What it means | |---|---| | Needs review | Held until you approve or deny it. | | Pending | Earned, and payable when its month closes. | | Approved, unpaid | Goes into the next payout run. | | Paid | Included in a payout that was marked paid. | | Denied | Decided by you, never paid. |
Beside them, All shows everything. Reversed appears once a refund or chargeback has reversed a commission, and Imported appears if you brought history over from FirstPromoter.

Why commissions are held#
affixo holds a commission automatically when one of these applies:
- The amount is over your auto-approval limit.
- The sale came from a traffic channel your channel rules restrict.
- The affiliate, or the affiliate who recruited them, isn't approved yet.
- It looks like a self-referral, or the buyer is on the Buyer Risk List (when you've turned those holds on).
You set the auto-approval limit and the self-referral and buyer-risk holds under SettingsProgramAttribution & approvals. You can't put a commission on hold by hand. If you want to stop one being paid, deny it.
Other actions#
- Re-approve: on a denied commission, puts it back at its original amount.
- Delete: in a denied commission's menu. It removes the record entirely and can't be undone.
- Add to payout run: on a pending or approved commission, pays it in your open payout run instead of waiting for the monthly one.
- Release: on an imported FirstPromoter commission, makes it payable in the next payout.
- Export: downloads the commissions you're looking at.
Note
Approving and denying needs the Admin or Program manager role.

Questions
One of your approval rules applied. Common reasons are an amount over your auto-approval limit, a restricted traffic channel, a possible self-referral, a buyer with a past chargeback, or an affiliate who isn't approved yet. The reason shows on the row and in the commission's details.
Yes. Denied commissions show Re-approve. One click puts the commission back, at its original amount.
Yes, as long as it hasn't been paid. Pending and Approved, unpaid rows both have a Deny button. Paid commissions can't be denied.
Deny keeps the commission as history and excludes it from payouts, and you can re-approve it later. Delete removes it from affixo entirely, including reports and the affiliate's earnings, and can't be undone. You can only delete a commission after denying it.
Refunds and chargebacks reverse the matching commission automatically. Reversals appear under the Reversed filter.
Yes. Click Add to payout run on the row to put it in your open payout run, where you approve and send it. If the sale is still inside its refund window and gets refunded after you pay, the amount is taken off the affiliate's next payout.
