Set commission rates: recurring, one-time and limits
Choose a percentage or flat rate, decide which payments it pays on, and cap or step it down over time.
Every campaign has one main rate, called the campaign rate. It applies to every sale on the campaign unless a product or plan has its own rate. You set it in the campaign's Rewards section.
Set the campaign rate#
Open the campaign's Rewards section
Go to Campaigns and click the campaign. The editor opens on Rewards.
Pick the reward type and amount
Under Reward type, choose Percentage (a share of each payment), Flat amount (the same amount every sale) or Non-cash (credit, swag, a free month). Then set the amount under Give. You can pick a saved rate from your reward templates, or choose Custom… and type one. Tick Save to your reward templates to reuse a custom rate in other campaigns.
Choose which payments it pays on
Under Of which payments?, choose First sale only (paid once per customer) or Every renewal (paid every time they renew).
Shape it over time
The Over time card has two choices:
- Same rate on every payment keeps the rate flat.
- Declining schedule pays a higher rate first, then a lower one. For example, 40% of the first 3 payments, then 20%.
Turn on Cap renewals and enter a number to stop paying after that many renewals. With the switch off, a recurring rate pays for life. Capping isn't needed for First sale only.
Save
Click Save changes at the top of the page.
The panel beside the form shows What affiliates will read, so you can check the offer in plain words before you save.
Extras#
The Extras card holds two optional add-ons:
- Referred-customer discount: a percentage or flat discount customers get when they use an affiliate's promo code. Affiliates see it as the discount they can offer.
- Target reward: a bonus when an affiliate reaches a Number of sales or an amount of Revenue in this campaign. Set it to One time, or Monthly so it can be earned again each calendar month. Click Add target reward to add more than one.
Which rate wins#
The Who gets which rate box on the Rewards section lists the order affixo checks for each sale. The first one that matches wins:
- An affiliate's own rate, if you set one
- A product's rate
- A plan's rate (monthly, yearly, one-time)
- This campaign's rate
Note
Changes apply to new commissions. What has already been earned stays as it was.
