Set up sub-affiliates (two-tier)
Let affiliates recruit other affiliates, and pay recruiters a cut of their recruits' sales.
Sub-affiliates let your affiliates recruit other affiliates. Anyone who signs up through an affiliate's recruit link joins your program as their sub-affiliate, and the recruiter earns a cut of that person's sales. You turn it on for the whole program, then set the cut on each campaign.
Plan
Sub-affiliates are available on the Growth plan and up.
Turn on sub-affiliates#
Turn on recruiting
Go to SettingsProgramSub-affiliates and turn on Let affiliates recruit.
Set an override on a campaign
Under Campaign overrides, each campaign shows what it pays recruiters, or No override yet. Click Set override next to a campaign. This opens the campaign's Tier 2 section.
Choose what recruiters earn
Under Tier 2 · Recruited affiliates, choose Percentage or Flat amount and enter the amount. A line below reads it back, for example "5% of each eligible sale, paid to the recruiter." Leave the amount blank to turn it off for that campaign.
Save
Click Save changes.
You can also go straight to a campaign's Tier 2 section from Campaigns. If sub-affiliates are off for your program, that section says so and links to the settings page.
How the money works#
The recruiter earns the Tier 2 rate on each sale their sub-affiliate makes. For example, a $100 sale with a 5% override pays the recruiter $5. That's on top of the sub-affiliate's own commission, which follows their own campaign as usual.
What affiliates see#
Affiliates find their recruit link on the Sub-affiliates page in their portal menu, along with the people they've brought in and what those people have earned them. It also shows on their Home page.
Heads up
Turning recruiting off stops new recruits, but overrides already set on a campaign keep paying until you remove them.
