Run a contest
Run a time-boxed competition between affiliates, record the results, and add milestone bonuses that pay out automatically.
A contest gives affiliates a reason to push for a few weeks. You set the dates and what counts, affiliates see a live leaderboard, and affixo records the final standings. On the same page you can also set up milestone bonuses, which pay automatically when an affiliate crosses a goal.
Start a contest#
Open Contests
Go to CampaignsContests and click New contest.
Set the ranking and dates
Give it a Name. Under Ranked by, choose Sales, Revenue or Commissions. Under Campaign, pick one campaign or Whole program. Set Starts, Ends and the Time zone.
Set the qualifying rules
Minimum to qualify is the least an affiliate needs to place. Settle days (14 to start, up to 90) is how long after the end date standings stay open, so refunds can still count.
Add prizes and rules
Write a Prize headline, like "Free event pass for 1st". Under Prizes, click Place to add a prize for a place or a range of places, or Everyone who qualifies for a prize anyone reaching the minimum gets. Under Rules, say who can enter, what counts, how ties are broken and when winners are announced.
Create the contest
Click Create contest.
While it runs and after#
Each contest's row has buttons to:
- View the standings: a live ranking while it runs. Once the settle period ends, it says the results are recorded and won't change.
- Create a public board link anyone can open without signing in. It shows the top 25, the prizes, the rules and a countdown. You can replace the link or Turn off the board at any time.
- Edit, end or delete the contest.
When you've handed a prize over, open the standings and tick Delivered next to the winner, so you have a record.
Note
Prizes are never paid out by affixo. A contest records the results, and the prizes are yours to hand out.
Milestone bonuses#
Below your contests, Milestone bonuses pay an affiliate extra when they reach a goal. Click New bonus, then set a Name, a Metric (Revenue, Sales or Commissions), a Window (One-time or Monthly), a Threshold and a Bonus amount in your payout currency. A one-time bonus is earned once. A monthly one can be earned every month. Click Run evaluation to check every affiliate against your bonuses now.
Deleting a bonus rule removes its award history, but bonus commissions it already created stay on the ledger.

Questions
No. Contest prizes are never paid out by affixo. Results are recorded, and you hand the prizes out yourself, then tick each one as Delivered.
Standings stay provisional for the settle period after the end date, so a refund can still drop a sale. After that, the results are recorded and never change.
Once the results are final you can still rename it and edit the prize and rules. Everything that decides the ranking is locked.
Ending it takes it off the affiliate leaderboard right away, and the results are still recorded. Deleting it removes the contest and its standings for good, and affiliates lose any record of it.
Only if you create a public board link. Anyone with the link can see it without signing in. It shows first names and last initials, ranks and sale counts, never revenue or commission.
A contest ranks affiliates against each other, and you hand out the prizes. A milestone bonus pays a set amount to every affiliate who crosses a goal, as a commission, once or every month.
