Offer non-cash rewards
Reward affiliates with credits, points or free months instead of cash, and keep reusable rewards as templates.
Not every affiliate wants cash. Customers who refer friends often prefer account credit or a free month. A non-cash reward is earned like a commission, but instead of joining a payout, it waits for you to hand it over.
Set a non-cash reward on a campaign#
Open the campaign's Rewards section
Go to Campaigns and click the campaign. The editor opens on Rewards.
Choose Non-cash
Under Reward type, choose Non-cash (credit, swag, a free month).
Set the amount and unit
Under Give, enter an amount and pick credits, points or free months. Then choose First sale only or Every renewal under Of which payments?.
Save
Click Save changes.
To pay a non-cash reward only on certain products or plans, set it on a rule in Products and plans instead. See Pay different rates per product or plan.
Hand rewards over#
When an affiliate earns a non-cash reward, it lands in PayoutsRewards to hand out under Waiting on you, with who earned it and how long it has waited.
- Hand it over in your own system, for example by adding credit to their account.
- Click Mark handed out.
Click Cancel instead if it shouldn't be handed out. You can add a reason, such as "customer refunded". A reward whose sale is refunded before you hand it over is canceled automatically.
Tip
If you'd rather automate delivery, the fulfilment.pending webhook fires for each new reward, so
your own system can apply it.
Save rewards as templates#
CampaignsReward templates opens your Reward library: reusable rewards you apply across campaigns, cash or non-cash. Click New reward, give it a Name, choose Cash commission or Non-cash reward, and set the Amount and Duration. Ready-made presets are there too, for common rates you can apply as they are.
Saved cash rewards show up in the Give picker on a campaign's Rewards section. A campaign copies a reward's terms when you apply it, so editing a template doesn't change the campaigns using it, unless you tick the box to also update those campaigns while you edit. Archive a template to hide it from the picker. Campaigns already using it keep working.
