What each affiliate action does

Every item in the Actions menu on an affiliate's profile, what it changes and when to use it.

Updated October 20, 2026

Open any affiliate from Affiliates and you'll find an Actions button at the top of their profile. This article walks through every item in that menu, in the order it appears.

Next to Actions you may also see buttons for the decision that's waiting: Approve and Reject for someone pending, Reactivate for someone suspended or rejected, and Resend invite or Activate account for an invite they haven't finished.

New referral#

Records a person this affiliate referred, as a lead or a customer. If you give an email or a Stripe customer ID, that person's payments from now on earn this affiliate commission. You can also import their past Stripe sales in the same step. Use it when someone was clearly sent by the affiliate but tracking missed them. See Add a referral manually.

New commission#

Adds a commission by hand: either a sale, priced by your campaign's rules, or a custom amount with a reason the affiliate sees on their statement. Use it for an offline sale or a one-off bonus. See Add a commission manually.

Edit#

Opens Edit affiliate: name, email, country, website and company, plus three program settings. Attribution model (campaign default, last click or first click), Tier (current campaign), and Sub-affiliate of (parent affiliate). Changing the tier here does the same as Move to campaign: it applies to new conversions only.

Add note#

Adds an internal note to the affiliate's record. Notes are visible to admins only, never to the affiliate. Use them for context like "met at the conference, promotes on YouTube".

Impersonate#

Opens your affiliate portal as this affiliate, read-only, with a Viewing as banner at the top. Click Exit impersonation to come back. Use it to check what they see before you answer a question. See See what an affiliate sees.

Override commission#

Sets a custom percentage for this one affiliate across their campaigns. It replaces campaign, product and billing-plan rates for new eligible commissions; campaign eligibility and commission duration still apply. Use campaign rates removes the override. Only workspace admins see this item. See Give one affiliate a custom rate.

Add to campaign#

Gives the affiliate a second campaign to promote. Its links appear in their portal and its rewards apply to sales through those links. The menu only offers campaigns they aren't in yet. Their primary campaign doesn't change.

Move to campaign#

Sets the affiliate's primary campaign. They keep their other campaigns, and nothing already earned changes. See Move an affiliate to another campaign.

Suspend#

Asks you to confirm, then stops their links from crediting sales while they're suspended. Suspended affiliates are also left out of payouts. Reactivate on their profile undoes it. Use it while you investigate something. See Suspend, archive or delete an affiliate.

Archive#

Moves the affiliate out of your active list (they show under Inactive) and stops them earning on new sales. They can still sign in to see and collect what they already earned, which is paid on your normal schedule. Unarchive reverses it. Use it for someone who has stopped working with you.

Delete#

Permanently removes the affiliate. It only works if they have no commissions or payouts; otherwise archive them instead. It can't be undone and needs the Admin role.

Questions

Suspend stops their links from crediting sales and stops payouts to them until you reactivate them. Archive moves them out of your active list and stops new earning, but they can still sign in and are paid what they already earned. Delete removes them for good, and only works when they have no commissions or payouts.

No. Nothing already earned is recalculated. Moving only changes their primary campaign, which applies to new sales. They also stay a member of their old campaign, so sales through that campaign's links keep earning its rates.

No. Impersonate shows you their portal exactly as they see it, read-only. You can't edit their details, accept terms or request anything on their behalf. Starting and ending it is recorded in your audit log.

Notes are internal. The note dialog marks them visible to admins only, and they are never shown to the affiliate.

No. The override applies to new eligible commissions. Commissions they already earned keep their original rates. Use campaign rates puts them back on the campaign's rates.

Override commission shows only for workspace admins. Delete needs the Admin role. The other actions need permission to manage affiliates, which Admins and Program managers have.

Suspend only appears for an approved affiliate who isn't archived. A pending affiliate has Approve and Reject buttons instead, and a suspended one has Reactivate.

No email is sent for suspending or archiving. Approving and rejecting send the Application approved and Application rejected emails when those are turned on.
