Suspend, archive or delete an affiliate

Three ways to stop working with an affiliate, what each one does to their links and money, and how to undo it.

Updated October 20, 2026

When you need to stop an affiliate, you have three options. They differ in whether links keep crediting, whether earned money is still paid, and whether you can undo them. All three live in the Actions menu on the affiliate's profile.

Compare them#

| | Suspend | Archive | Delete | |---|---|---|---| | Links credit new sales | No | No | No | | Already earned commissions are paid | No, while suspended | Yes, on your normal schedule | Only possible with none | | Where they show | Inactive tab | Inactive tab, marked Archived | Gone | | Undo | Reactivate | Unarchive | Can't be undone | | Who can do it | Admin, Program manager | Admin, Program manager | Admin |

Suspend#

Open the affiliate

Go to Affiliates and open their profile.

Suspend

Click ActionsSuspend, then Suspend affiliate. Their links stop attributing while suspended.

Suspend only appears for approved affiliates who aren't archived. To undo it, click Reactivate on their profile. Rejecting a pending applicant works the same way: they lose portal access and their links stop attributing, and Reactivate brings them back.

Archive#

Click ActionsArchive, then Archive affiliate. They drop out of your active affiliates (you'll find them under Inactive) and stop earning on new sales. They can still sign in to see and collect what they already earned. A sale they would have earned on still shows on the commission list as blocked, so you can see what happened. Unarchive in the same menu brings them back.

Tip

Affiliates can also leave your program themselves. Leaving works like archiving: they stop earning on new sales and are still paid what they already earned.

Delete#

Click ActionsDelete, then Delete affiliate. This permanently removes them, and only works if they have no commissions or payouts. Otherwise archive them. A snapshot of the deleted record is kept in your audit log.

Questions

Suspend while you investigate something, because it stops both new credit and payouts. Archive when the relationship is over but they earned their commissions fairly. Delete only for a record that should never have existed, like a duplicate with no history.

Yes. Commissions they earned before you archived them stay payable and are paid on your normal schedule. They can still sign in to see and collect them. They just don't earn on new sales.

No. Suspended affiliates are left out of payouts while suspended. Reactivate them and what they're owed becomes payable again.

Delete only works for affiliates with no commissions or payouts, so your money records stay complete. Archive them instead. Delete also needs the Admin role.

Yes for suspending and rejecting. Tick affiliates in the list and use the bulk actions. Only active affiliates are suspended; others in the selection are skipped.

No email goes out when you suspend or archive someone.
