API keys, webhooks and the MCP server

Create API keys, send program events to your own systems, and connect AI tools like Claude and Cursor to your workspace.

Updated October 20, 2026

affixo connects to your own systems three ways: API keys for your server and scripts, webhooks that push events to your URL, and an MCP server for AI tools. All three are on every plan and live under SettingsConnect. Only admins can open them.

This article covers setup in the dashboard. For endpoints, payloads and code, see the developer docs at docs.affixo.dev.

Create an API key#

Open Developer & API

Go to SettingsConnectDeveloper & API and click New key.

Name it and pick scopes

Give it a Name such as "Production server" and choose Scopes: read to fetch data, write to create and update records, track for server-to-server tracking.

Copy it now

Click Generate key and copy the key. It won't be shown again.

Treat a key like a password. To revoke one, click the trash icon on its row and confirm with Revoke key. Anything using it stops working straight away. The same page shows your public tracking key, which is safe to share.

Add a webhook endpoint#

Open Webhooks

Go to SettingsConnectWebhooks.

Add your URL

Under Add an endpoint, enter an Endpoint URL. It must be https and publicly reachable.

Choose events

Leave All events on to get every event, including ones added later, or turn it off and pick the events you want.

Save and test

Click Add endpoint, then Send test on it to check your server receives it.

Every delivery is signed with your endpoint's signing secret, so your server can check it came from affixo. Failed deliveries retry automatically. Recent deliveries shows what was sent and how your server answered, with Resend on failed ones. To pause an endpoint, switch it off rather than deleting it.

Connect an AI tool with MCP#

The MCP server lets tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code read and manage your program in plain language.

  1. Go to SettingsConnectMCP server.
  2. Under Add it to your client, pick your tool and follow its steps.
  3. Sign in to affixo when asked, then choose the workspace and access level.

There's no key to paste. For other tools, use the URL under Any other client as a remote connector. MCP tools can't move money.
