Cookie window

A cookie window (or cookie duration) is the length of time after a click during which a resulting conversion is still credited to the referring affiliate.

If a program has a 30-day cookie window, an affiliate is credited for a purchase made up to 30 days after the click. Longer windows generally favor affiliates; shorter windows favor the merchant.

Cookie windows only apply to cookie-based attribution. As browsers cap or delete third-party cookies, programs increasingly supplement or replace cookie windows with cookieless methods such as coupon codes and server-side matching.
